I guess that’s just how things are. People regularly ask me how I do my edits, and I’m happy to answer. But when I ask questions about how someone achieved a particular look or effect, I often get treated negatively just for wanting to learn.
There are some really cool effects I see other photographers using, but I tend to avoid copying their techniques because I know I’d get blasted for it.
Yet it sometimes feels like it’s considered perfectly acceptable for others to borrow techniques from other photographers.
