Well I looked into how this game actually turned out, and apparently it's an incredible game that also requires heavy investment by the player to appreciate its clearly unique qualities and, thus, is a game I'm basically never gonna have the time to play.

Okay I've finally gotten around to seeing long clips of actual gameplay and it looks like it isn't *as* jarring as it was in ads.
Instead, it looks like a (still pretty jarringly kaleidoscopic) game that, in practice, blends a bit of Halo, Destiny and Apex Legends, which I suppose makes sense.

I keep seeing ads for the new Marathon game Bungie is making, which, as a kid who grew up entirely on Macs in the 90s, gives me all kinds of nostalgia…
…and also makes me sad, because the aesthetic of the new game seems so jarringly intense watching the trailer literally makes me physically ill.
