4) All 9 counties: up to $12,000 to scrap your old gas car.
The Bay Area Air District's Clean Cars for All program = if you're driving an older polluting vehicle, you can get up to $12K to switch to a new or used EV — plus up to $2K for a home charger.
This stacks with other local rebates!
5) San Francisco: free help navigating the whole thing.
SF's Environment Department has compiled every EV incentive available to city residents — rebates, charger credits, HOV sticker info — in one place.
If you're in SF and curious about going electric, this is your starting point.
1) San José: up to $4,000 off at the dealership.
San José Clean Energy's EV Instant Rebate gives qualifying residents up to $4,000 off a new EV — or $2,000 off a used one — right at the point of sale.
Who qualifies: SJCE customers earning under 100% of Area Median Income.
2) Oakland: 244 new public chargers, no driveway required.
Oakland just solved one of the biggest barriers to going electric — the city is installing 244 Level 2 chargers across 8 public parking sites, mostly downtown. This is a big deal for renters. You don't need a garage to own an EV anymore.
