๐Ÿ“ˆUsing stacked ice core records from northern Greenland, we identified links between variations in stable oxygen isotope ratios and large-scale atmospheric circulation patterns associated with European winter extremes over the last 400 years.
๐Ÿ“ˆPeriods with low (depleted) stable oxygen isotope values were associated with atmospheric blocking, leading to wetter conditions in northern Europe and drier winters across southern Europe.
