"MY MAYOR'S MUSLIM MY BAGELS ARE JEWISH MY CHRISTIAN DIOR KNICKS IN FOUR!" This is why I love this city. NYC. We are diverse. And yet United. We are immigrants and yet, American! Damn, it's a good time being in New York. And being a Knicks fan. I ❤️ NY.

I would like to think this would play out differently at an astronomy conference But I am not so sure The best time to plan what you would do if this happened at your flagship conference is years ago As is often the case, the second best time is now 🔭
Edwin Hubble famously kept the company of his black cat Copernicus on late nights at the Mount Wilson Observatory. At STScI, these are just a fraction of the pets who keep us company while we expand the frontiers of space astronomy.

The stencil for the Guaraní panel is so pretty! In their cosmovision, the Milky Way is known as “the Tapir's Path” bc it looks like light shining on crumpled leaves on the forest floor. The stars on the stencil were made from Ñandutí lace, a Paraguayan traditional textile. #SkyhorseCarousel #sciart

The Planetary Society built an interactive side-by-side "track changes" comparison for the proposed OMB rules. They show exactly what the current rules say versus what the proposed rules would change, section by section, across all *399* affected provisions. dashboards.planetary.org/rules-change/ 🧪🔭

Oh I *LOVE* the @planetarysociety.bsky.social's dashboard of OMB proposed rule changes. The clarity of their thematic clusters is great, but the insertion/deletion tracked changes is outstanding. I hope everyone prepping comments makes great use of it. dashboards.planetary.org/rules-change...

Remember the current NIH director going on about protecting researchers from government censorship? Today his people called the police in to forcibly remove my colleagues from their own society meeting for sharing an editorial published in their flagship journal that was critical of him. Gift link
