In honor of that outstanding White Sox win last night, here's the final resting place of one of the greats. Minnie Miñoso (“Mr. White Sox”) broke the team’s color barrier in 1951 and became a franchise icon. He’s buried at Graceland Cemetery, where this monument was unveiled in 2024.

In the mid-1850s, Pennyville's name was changed to Brickton to reflect the area's status in brickmaking. By the 1870s, when the brickmaking in the area had dried up, the townsfolk felt the area needed a classier name and “Park Ridge” was chosen. Here is the sign for the five-acre a Brickton Park.
