the Sisyphean task of getting my 3yo to think situationally:
-she took my toys!
-well, some kids don't know to ask first
-she's not nice
-well, maybe her parents didn't teach her to ask
-maybe they did but she didn't listen
-well, we don't know what her home is like
-maybe her parents are not nice
