at this point i think i would take a small, non-optimizing compiler over llvm or gcc, which are many millions of lines of code, and will be subject to "ai cursory review rot" and related problems over the coming years.
for the software i write, it'll run fast whether it gets vectorized or not. π€·ββοΈ i probably don't need that -O3 if it comes with so much baggage? it seems hard to justify. i would rather have something at a scale i could read and understand if i needed to.
