Along with group chats, we've rolled out a new way to share your profile and invite friends to find you on Bluesky.
Check your profile — you'll see a new share button. You can use this to create a personalized QR code other people can scan to more easily find (and hopefully follow) you.

As a chat participant, you decide who can invite you to Group Chats: everyone, only people you follow, or no one.
This setting defaults to "only people you follow" or whichever you've already set for DMs.
Invitations appear in your chat request inbox where you can approve or ignore them.
This is just the first step for group chats and communities on Bluesky. We're going to be evolving this with your feedback. Let us know what you think!
We know many of you want to send media in DMs and group chats. We couldn't include that in today's release, but we think it's a super valuable feature. We'll need to build new safety and moderation systems before we can add it.
