Twelve years ago today. Heading toward Prudhoe Bay on the Dalton "Highway", after spending the "night" (never got dark) at Galbraith Lake campground. North slope was desolate, but also beautiful. When I got to the Prudhoe Bay area, for the first time ever, I had to keep an eye out for polar bears.

Twelve years ago today... Driving over Atigun Pass on the Dalton Highway, Alaska. Got snowed on initially, but the weather cleared up a bit and I got a few images.
A couple more birds from Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in southeast Oregon. First, an American White Pelican, and second, a Forster's Tern. The Pelican was flying over in a small flock, while the Tern was looking for fish. Images taken a couple weeks ago.

This is the Dempster Highway in the Yukon. I only made it partially into the Northwest Territories. I was not able to cross the Peel and Mackenzie Rivers due to them being in spring thawing conditions. Take a couple extra tires if you try this remote road. Images taken 5/29/2014.
