Then they got TWO emails today, from my boss and myself, stating that while we will do everything we can to assure successful proposal submission, the day before something is due is not acceptable. We're working on other proposals and entering our busiest season. These people, I swear to god.

If you told me a month ago when you turned in a step-1 Notice of Intent that the full proposal (step-2) was due June 17 and knew there was a 5 business day turnaround to have internally routed for review and approval, when would you contact me to start budgeting for it?
If you answer was 3 pm the day before it was due for internal routing then you must be the faculty and staff members who've been working my last nerve today! They also kept emailing me after hours assuming I was still chugging away at it. My boss had to tell them it was after 5, I would not answer.
