My new paper "The Politics of Feeling: Emotion Norms and the Making of Difference" out in Passion! I argue that emotions and social identities are co-constructed: the norms that shape what counts as a given emotion also shape who counts as a given kind of person. passion-journal.org/article/view...
First semester at UNR in the books. So many ideas, conversations, and bright fall mornings. Not a bad start.
My new article on emotional injustice in healthcare is out in Bioethics. I look at how emotion policing shapes the experiences of chronic pain patients and reinforces inequities in medical settings.
