Salty over our uni's travel moratorium since I just saw
@transasianfan.bsky.social program this week, and there were some really interesting papers.
I hope some of these get some publications someday.

There was one established local journo team that approached me to talk about fandom. It took a good afternoon, and somehow I didn't hear about its posting. It was never posted. I sometimes think about whether it's because they didn't hear the narrative they wanted to hear. More work to do.
Even dojinshi printing is no joke these days (although it is still quite cheaper compared to some printers here in Manila.)

The beauty of the genre is that it has always given its artists this range.
The diversity in BL narratives makes the genre amazing and exciting. Policing it to conform to some "standard" rips the power of this highly transformative genre.

There's a part where @redstringtl.bsky.social made an interesting point at the space about the quality of manga printing in Japan and the heavy export costs that come with it. The ways different publishers navigate printing for such a limited resource (paper!) is often overlooked by consumers.
I did just say mpreg to the BBC last night.
I am like running through emotional extremes and my friends have been good at tempering at least my seething anger over this neverending shitshow surrounding BL.
