In grade school and high school, history was my favourite subject. It wasn't always that way. In grade 6 I asked my teacher why we needed to learn about any of it. He said "because you are who you are because of it, and your kids will be too." I put that in my journal that day. That day changed me.
In my professional and personal life, I have learned that men who are hostile to gay sex are, without exception, hostile towards / afraid of sex itself. They cloak this in dogma, religious and secular. Afraid of themselves. As out and proud gay men, our sexual freedom terrifies and threatens them.
