He wanted to say yes, but that would solidify the idea that there was a concern for their relationship. It was then he slowly turned to face Toshiro.
"Don't worry about it. The situation has been handled, and you returned home safely. That is all that matters."
With that he opens his eyes to gaze sharply at his partner, worry in his eyes.
โWhat? Who was this? NoโฆI didnโt have to deal with any of that.โ
He frowns, โCalm your nerves? Did that person truly get to you that much?โ

"I encountered an individual earlier who disapproved of how the Kuchiki Clan was being handled.
I dealt with them accordingly. Just want to make sure you didn't deal with the same situation as well.."
He took a steady deep breath,"Being here..helps clam my nerves."
He notices the smile, giving one of his own even if his partner hasnโt turned to look at him yet.
โThank you, no I wasnโt. Should there have been trouble?โ
He closes his eyes, taking in the breeze on this hot day.
โWhat brings you out here Byakuya?โ

Hearing Toshiro's voice, he earned a brief smile from the noble male.
"Welcome home. I trust you weren't given any trouble on your way in?"
He hadn't turned yet, but he at least acknowledged his partner's presence.
Toshiro searches all over, only to pause and smile softly when he finally sees his partner.
Walking over to him he very softly announces his presence so he doesnโt disturb, โIโm home Byakuya.โ
Then he quietly sits beside him, trying not to make a sound and waiting for his meditation to be over.

Byakuya was indeed home, as he had managed to return home early. He could be found in the garden, sitting at a short distance with his head down.
It seemed he was meditating or praying there.
Both Toshiro and Byakuya being Captains means they donโt get a lot of free time, and theyโve been working very hard recently so not a lot of quality time.
But tonight could be different, he left work at a reasonable hour and can sense his partner already home so heโs going to find him and hug him.
