The particularly frustrating thing is that Nelson has progressive bona fides, and has not minced words about what her values are. If Bernie and this DC group wanted to endorse a progressive candidate with a working class (and union) background, why not just endorse her?

But right before the filing deadline, Trey Martin, a union member & iron worker, entered the race. He quickly got an endorsement from Bernie Sanders.
