The afternoon session started with some in-depth comparative analysis of human fossils from Greece and the Balkans, one of the main objectives of FIRSTSTEPS. So nice to see this work slowly coming to fruition! 😀

Popped into the British Museum to see my boo: I’ve been visiting the horse head of Selene (inspiration for chess pieces everywhere!) for over 40 years, but the older I get the more sure I am that she should be in Greece…
Just back from the Senckenberg convention in Frankfurt! So nice to spend time with the hundreds of scientists that make up this amazing community of diverse institutes - I always learn something new about this incredible institution that we call home :-)

Our FISTSTEPS workshop continued with faunal and microfaunal analyses, paleoproteomics and human osteological analyses focusing on the record of the Apidima caves 😀
