I still don’t understand why people use Next.js to build static sites. It’s 2026 🤔
I know `valign="absmiddle"` because I’m a child of Yahoo! GeoCIties.
Just found CSS `vertical-align: center`, which is only implemented in Firefox atm. So, have we finally got an equivalent of HTML `valign="absmiddle"`? The evolution of CSS is insanely slow. You have to wait decades, not years, for a new feature.
Font size switcher on the web… in 2026? It’s a controversial thing since early 2000s 🤔 Basically, you should never provide it. (I’m talking about you, City of Toronto)
AFAIK, Netlify CMS’s main target was Gatsby. It’s almost gone, and Astro has completely upended the SSG market. Eleventy is also doing well, with 7 upcoming sites on my note.
My Bugzilla @ Mozilla profile is 20 years old 😆 This is actually my second profile. Anyway, It’s awesome! I’m also very proud of my Bugzilla UX work 😊
Forgot to mention that the number of sites built using vanilla JavaScript is increasing, as LLMs tend to generate such sites. The latest example is a U.S. state agency site launched as a public beta this morning, bringing the total number of these examples to 25. It’s more popular than Jekyll.
