To reform global health, we need courage, not caution.
At this year’s World Health Assembly, Wellcome CEO John-Arne Røttingen is sharing insights from the global health reform dialogues and encouraging everyone to raise the level of ambition for reform. [1/4]
Our new report outlines the outcomes of a high-level global meeting in Bangkok, Thailand last month, which brought together governments, multilaterals and civil society to discuss global health reform. This built on five regional dialogues held in 2025. [3/4]
“The risk now is settling for superficial change without addressing the root causes,” he said.
“We can’t be complacent. Bold concrete proposals are needed now, before the window for meaningful reform closes.” [2/4]
Conversations focused on identifying practical steps to make change possible. As expected, there isn’t a single blueprint to follow for global health reform. But appetite for change is strong.
