I often see people say how "socialising requires you to fake interest in things you don't care about" and it always irks me because is it really impossible for people to show curiosity towards each other even if what the other person is saying isn't your thing? Why act like it's impossible
People outright admit they fake interest when their friends talk to them about stuff that isn't up their alley and it's sort of scary to see. Yeah you *are* supposed to invest some genuine mental energy in things that aren't about you
It's kinda depressing how almost nobody cares to genuinely engage with other people through curiosity, but instead most ppl wait to sorta "relate" to something or project and that's the depth of it
