Factoid: Apr 1974 & BL announced it was axing 3 Allegro models just before its 1st birthday - (1300 Deluxe, 1500 Super Deluxe & 1750 Sport - all 2dr models).
BL claimed it was to ‘simplify the production lines at Cowley’ but it was an early sign the Allegro wasn’t selling as BL hoped.
