Had a free morning in Norwich so I’ve used it running to Diss on Boudicca Way. Lovely rolling countryside & pretty villages.
Genuinely brilliant article on Quiet Lanes from Cllr Nathan Ley - summarises the position exactly. Do share if you live in Oxfordshire.
Train back to Norwich (fine) then bus in Norwich (not fine). No LTNs or cycle lanes yet bus was painfully slow. Only one thing delaying it (hint it wasn’t bikes)
Also stopped off at some great Saxon churches in various stages of disrepair - nice they leave them open. Very peaceful places eerily deserted
I wouldn’t normally dredge up barf from X and repost it here but it’s notable that @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social doesn’t copy his own reactionary shitposting over here onto Bluesky, where he wants his progressive audience to have a different view of him than his X followers
Hope this helps

The other great quote here is from Prof. Chris Whitty: “the most important thing that we could do from a public health perspective is get the people who do absolutely nothing at the moment to do something”.
I keep thinking about how 22% of UK households do not have access to a car or van. I thought an icon array might help show just how many people are excluded by car-centric planning

The transport minister:
“I tried couch to 5k, and found it really difficult. But ask me to leave my car at home and cycle five or 10 minutes to the supermarket when I want to pick up some milk and a loaf of bread, that’s something that I could easily do.”
