This series is incredibly beautiful and has had a positive impact amongst all of us in the community. I hope you'll try the games! Have fun!
2, START WITH PIKMIN 4. It's the easiest game and a great way to get introduced to the series and the base mechanics without you wanting to immediately drop the games because they're too difficult. Pikmin 1 and 2 are the hardest games, with the addition of a 30-day limit in 1. Keep them for last.
1, know that your pikmin are going to die. A LOT. You can always make more and the games will tell you how to, but prepare yourself to the notion that you are going to lose a lot of pikmin. Don't get attached.
5, Enjoy the games the way you want. The only game with a time limit is Pikmin 1, but the others do not have a time limit (aside from 3 which I believe has 90 days.), so you can do pretty much all you want.
3, Interact with the community! There is a LOT of talented people who make beautifully thought out mods and fangames for this series, artworks and whatnot.
...Try to avoid Reddit and Twitter, though. You know, like any other community. We aren't exempt to the garbage produced on those platforms.
4, READ what the characters say, especially Olimar on his treasure notes and Piklopedia. He is an incredibly well written character, and the reading parts of the game can really help with letting you know the universe you're playing in.
/lrp if you're quitting pikmin bloom and you want to start playing the actual games in light of recent news from niantic, here's a bit of a thread on my suggestions for making the leap 🧵 #pikmin
if anybody is bummed out about the recent niantic news and is quitting pikmin bloom - you should REALLY try the actual games if you haven't yet already
