ICYMI - @trillingual.bsky.social on the rise of the UK far-right and how Britain's establishment institutions normalised ideas and policies that were once considered fringe and extreme:
Would love to know what the “legitimate concerns” are here; that stabbing is bad? Is that a thing people need to raise, or are anti-immigrant protests themselves ‘legitimate’ as long as they’re not actual riots?
Condemning riots isn't enough. We need policy action, including an immediate appraisal of X as a vehicle for coordinating far-right disorder. And we need political leadership, to challenge white nationalism as an idea, not to validate it daily and then complain when it turns violent.
