This! My mom hates her teeth so she spent all my youth hiding them behind a weird close-lip fake smile.
With my kid, I try to take pics with my brightest smile even if it shows all my 3 chins. I call those documentary pics instead of aesthetic pics, but time eventually turns them into the latter.

If you are going to have children, you owe it to them to do real work on your own self worth/self image issues.
Bare minimum, regardless of how you feel about how you look; take pictures with them. My mom hated how she looked so I have no photos of her within the last 20 years and I never will.
