Hard to think of a better learning ground for cinematography than Black Narcissus.

Edward "Ted" Scaife was the cinematographer for Curse of the Demon. I mention that, not just because of the fine work he did on that film, but because of his other successful work for films like The Dirty Dozen (1967) and 633 Squadron (1964). And as a camera operator on Black Narcissus (1947).
