Beautifully done and important trial. An effective mTb test that utilizes tongue swab specimens will be absolutely transformative for Tb diagnosis especially is resource limited settings. Definitely practice modifying. www.nejm.org/doi/full/10....

"time to rethink the extent to which a single entity should be responsible for disseminating and evaluating research...we should build a more decoupled system in which articles are first disseminated as preprints and then undergo review, filtering, and evaluation"

yup. "Perhaps the greatest inefficiency in the current publishing process is the successive, redundant reviewing of papers by different journals, in which the peer reviews for rejected papers remain hidden and represent millions of hours of lost scholarship."

www.nature.com/articles/d41...? A researcher at Gothenburg U made up a skin problem caused by too much screentime, and uploaded a popular science piece and "preprints" online. Soon, LLMs would treat the condition as real, and the fake study cited in real medical papers.
