Incredibly, three weeks today EVERYBODY'S PERFECT (my first new novel since 2020) will be released!
Gorgeous cover by Caroline Jamhour
I heard @bluejo.bsky.social read an excerpt from this two years ago. It was strange and beautiful and I'm excited to read it.
27. Trace Elements by Jo Walton and Ada Palmer--tasty chewy essays on genre and writing and media. I'd read a whole collection that was just on the stuff in the first part. πππͺ
Iain Banks died last Sunday, just before the publication of his final novel The Quarry. Last month he talked to Stuart Kelly about writing, politics and all the things still left to do . . .
I just read 'Trace Elements" by Jo Walton & Ada Palmer. Wow, what an excellent collection of essays!
There is one essay I especially want to point out, "Hopepunk, Optimism, Purity..." I was never sure of what Hopepunk was. Now I know. I live in a Hopepunk city, Minneapolis; so is St. Paul.
Jo Walton is one of my absolute favourite authors! Definitely recommend checking out her work
