I just saw people on Reddit pressuring a rural teenager to come out and telling them it’s their duty because we need people in the fight, and that to me is fucked up.
No one has to come out. You can choose safety. That’s literally not my business.
We gotta stop eating each other.
Since we are talking about it:
Blooper did a fine job on the SH2 remake while having the unique challenge of the twist already being spoiled, so they had to come up with a new one. I dislike the focus on combat, but what we got wasn't bad at all. I really, really love how they fleshed out Maria.
I think folks forget due to nostalgia that sometimes a cool idea is just that, and it's okay to get the taste of it that you did. PT didn't need to be a full game, much less a SH title.
We are talking budget increases that were large enough to immediately trigger corporate level meetings.
Do I think it was a good idea? No. Do I understand? Yes.
Reddit has legitimately killed more people than 4chan and I really believe we should keep that at the forefront when considering their respective website culture, if for no other reason than one is exponentially larger than the other.
Especially heinous to use The Backrooms for the image, as Kane Parsons themselves said "if I could snap my fingers and get rid of AI, I would".
I think for what the demo itself accomplished, it was well executed as an idea.
But demos aren't full games. How could PT be writ large, you know?
We have several examples at this point, and frankly they all suck.
I'll probably get flamed into oblivion for this but actually, I absolutely understand why Konami fired Kojima-
He kept asking for exponential budget increases, far more than any other projects they were doing at the time, and exceeded due days regularly.
"metal gear isn't g-"
You look me in the eyes and explain Long Diccman of the Cokk And Awe unit delivering the most dramatic monologue in the series any other way.
