Excellent programme harlaxtonmedievalsymposium.org/programme/
A wider view of part of the c1490 funeral pall at the Commandery, Worcester, Fleurs-de-Lys and six-winged angels standing on wheels, with saints in the borders. By tradition it was used for Prince Arthur's funeral in 1502, though there's no documentary evidence to support this. #TextileTuesday
Two matching sides of an apprenticeship indenture from 1673 While we have thousands of indentures, we so rarely have the two matching sides! This apprentice, William Pott from Cumberland, requested to be made free early as his master was ill 📷 COL/CA/05/01/0001 @thelondonarchives.bsky.social

Incidentally, I’ll be speaking about how #London merchants invested in, transformed, and were commemorated in rural parish churches in England before the Reformation - such as this monumental brass to the mercer and alderman John Lambard at St Nicholas Hinxworth #Skystorians #MedievalSky

2/3 St Simon with a saw, the instrument of his martyrdom, one of the many saints on the c1490 funeral pall displayed in the Commandery, Worcester. The pall has been in the possession of the Worcester Clothiers Guild since the 16th Century, and was used at their members' own funerals.
