I fell in love with the Knicks around the early 90’s as a young teen and marveled at the grit of that Ewing, Starks, Oakley, Mason, etc lineup.
Other than that brief “Linsanity” flash, I’d let Knicks fandom creep back in a few years ago and I can finally let my bummed-out teen self feel what’s it’s like when your favorite team goes all the way. Feels good [Tony! Toni! Toné! style].
Remember this scene the next time a corporate reporter tries to insist that a rural diner full of white men in their 60s is somehow a more authentically "American" place, somehow more representative of who we are as a nation.
