These AI reveals (Crazy Taxi, Kingdom Hearts, 1666, Tomb Raider) will happen all year. The creation of these AI based assets was last year or older. AI was on full hype by then and a lot of decision makers were easily persuaded. And there was no reason to track it. Now it comes back to bite them.

really hard to communicate the gagged feeling of disbelief in the back of my throat at the complete abdication of quality control in art direction that comes with gAI if you've never worked in the industry. people just don't know how much the smallest offkey pixel could cause 5 review turns of notes
They didn't disclose it because they wanted to get away with it. It's the main splash art for your game! The first impression! And this is what you were okay with? Clothing that makes no sense? A backwards hand? Fucked up cart? If you don't care to make it, why should I care to play it?
We were right. People DO care. It IS about connection and craft and not just content. The suits pretended like these things don't mean much and suddenly we had to defend something that before just had been intrinsically true. The value of human made art was up for debate. but turns out, IT ISN'T!
