Why let bad air build up in the first place? It should be a steady constant cleaning and filtering. It is not like trying to determine when your soapy kitchen sink dishwater needs changed. We keep our windows cracked open 2 cm and run air cleaners all day. HVAC is not on auto but runs continiously
