The most popular tourist attraction in Mallorca, the cathedral in Palma is an undoubtedly impressive piece of architecture, both inside and out. It was under construction from 1229 and took nearly 400 years to complete. I wonder how many generations of stone masons worked on this - it's almost hard to imagine spending your entire life working on something like this knowing that not only will it not be finished before you die, but that perhaps your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and so on will also not see it to completion.
