As if they didn't fucking know there were AI assets in there. They just were hoping no-one would notice.
They promise there won't be any AI assets in the final game, but why would anyone trust them to be truthful about that when they were hoping they would get away with it in the prologue?
And at the end of the day. If something has been conjured up by AI but then recreated or tweaked by a human it doesn't make it any less AI. All they're doing is trying to explain away their lack of creativity and hoping people will be ok with it.
