Happy Election Day! This year I’m serving as a poll worker. If you’re in my precinct I hope to see you at the polls!
After spending 13 and a half hours working at the polls today, I can say with supreme confidence: our elections are run extremely well and are extremely secure. There are multiple fail-safe processes during the day and after polls close to reconcile ballot totals.
Also not enough people vote.

Think about this framing: turnout is “high” and might top 20%. We are calling it high when over 3/4 of the eligible electorate won’t show up!
This isn’t high; it’s unacceptable for a democracy. We need to change the narrative. It’s why I’m writing a new book on nonvoters and how we can fix it.
