For years, the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) was attacked by Trump allies as an unaccountable climate “slush fund.”
Now compare it to the new ~$1.7B “Anti-Weaponization Fund” tied to Trump’s IRS lawsuit settlement.
"By nationalising British Steel, UK government will now be able to take control of company strategy and press ahead with a shift from using blast furnaces to a greener electric-arc furnace."
In contrast, the US only partly controls US Steel, isn't greening it, and doesn't own it.
