This is a great interview (if I can say so), but I also want to say that MORE PEOPLE SHOULD BE READING THIS BOOK. It was so good, and I just don't think it has gotten enough attention.
Is there a book you've always wanted to write, but you haven't jumped in? Then this week's episode is for you. I talked with @profbrooks.bsky.social about her brilliant new book, THE MOYS OF NEW YORK AND SHANGHAI (@ucpress.bsky.social), and how she brought its characters to life. 🗃️ #skystorians

It was an honor to be a guest on @draftingthepast.bsky.social to discuss my…erm…let’s call it haphazard process to writing this book! A real thrill to be included on a podcast that I treasure and listen to religiously. Thank you @katecarp.bsky.social!
wanted to take a moment to shout-out to some amazing people I mentioned in this podcast (and thanks again @draftingthepast.bsky.social!)
@theotherrbg.bsky.social and my agent Dani Segelbaum, for vision!
