This piece contributes to our understanding of the document, its historical context, and the state of scholarship in its field. By presenting its contexts in approachable terms with compelling research we hope to spur increased attention across historical specializations and scholarly disciplines.
Our inaugural "PSiC" features Dušan Coufal's analysis of a letter purportedly written by Austrian nobility to King Sigismund in 1419, requesting decisive action against Hussite heretics. Coufal's analysis shows it was more likely a strategic product written later by university masters in Vienna.
Do you have a favorite primary source that deserves wider attention and appreciation? Of course you do!
The AHY is launching a new "Primary Source in Context" feature! It pairs a research article with a translated and annotated primary source to facilitate broad interdisciplinary engagement.
The forthcoming #AHY 57 features a dynamic forum on Habsburg-Ottoman diplomacy.
