🧩 The takeaway: beyond fostering science identity and growth mindset, supporting science learning may also require helping children develop richer understandings of what science is.
🧩 Elementary school children’s agreement that science seeks to explain the world predicted their learning from a curriculum on evolution by natural selection.

🧩 The Evolving Minds Project (www.evolvingmindsproject.org) curriculum shifted children’s views of science itself: children became less likely to define science in stereotypical terms and more likely to see science as evidence-seeking and explanation-building.
