When I have a little free time, I write stories on AO3 at e_greer and if I have any left, I make food and clothes.

We and everywhere need to build a clean grid that is probably doubled in size, and also smarter and more resilient and more efficient, so that vulnerable folks don’t die in heat waves and that we can electrify our cars, (more efficient) buildings, and factories. Not doing that increases suffering.
I'm real serious about this, actually. The shit I've dealt with this spring, and I've managed to write two (short) novel length stories, a novella length story, a smattering of short stories, and edit hours of a podfic. I simply cannot look at the world burning, or I'll curl up in the fetal position
Yes, we absolutely can use air conditioning in combination with other tactics to keep people alive during heat waves in a more sustainable way:
Europe’s cities can beat extreme heat by combining efficient air con with passive cooling to reduce emissions and energy use.

Was just reminded that as of two months ago, the ENTIRETY of Farscape - all 90 episodes - was put up for free on the official YouTube channel.
One of the best TV sci-fi shows ever. Weird, funny, dark, full of wild creative swings. The ending was a bit rushed but at least they got to do an ending.
