Anyone else notice the scam call flood and the data removal subscription boom showed up at the same time? Not accusing anyone of anything. Just saying that’s a real convenient problem to suddenly have a paid fix for.

HD radio brings out strong opinions lately on my Facebook, so naturally Tuesday’s episode is about HD radio. The thing where you tune to an analog-only station and your receiver locks onto a different station’s HD1 on the same frequency. Should be a calm discussion, I’m sure. #radio

Late night at the site while electricians wire in the new generator. Place has been dark for hours and it’s a strange feeling. You don’t notice the hum of a broadcast facility until it’s gone. #broadcastengineering #radio
HD radio set out to beat satellite radio. Now it’s up against Spotify and the whole internet, a much bigger fight. More channels and cleaner audio never stood a chance against on demand. The hardware was never the problem, the content model was. #radio #broadcast
Electricians done, switches updated, then one interface refused to come back. Checked configs, optics, trunks on both ends of the microwave path, none of it made sense. Turned out the fix was unplugging the SFP and plugging it back in. Every time. 🤦♂️
HD Radio was radio’s plan to beat satellite radio and streaming. CD-quality FM, extra subchannels, a data layer. Then Spotify showed up with better audio and infinite choice, and the HD button in your car has sat there untouched ever since. New episode is up. #radio #broadcast
