A honorific that can be pleasingly shortened to “cuz” for people needing a single syllable version.
In my family we title relatives as cousin when they might be very distant and another generation entirely so it’s an easy one for me to adopt.
Although I do rather love “bab” and “hon” as gender neutral terms too.
I’ve be fine with “luv” if the same people calling me it in a coffee shop didn’t call male customers “sir”.
