There is a wistful quality to the film. It's in the unrequited strain. Brief Encounter; The Bridges of Madison County. But, with solid Russian communist working class pretensions. Lots of cabbage talk, and some about America being dangerous. But ignore this as the vagaries of the Soviet system.
What an interesting film. Barely 80 minutes. Beautifully composed. A Russian film from 1968. It is about married woman from the countryside meeting a quiet cab driver on her first day in Moscow. As the rain comes down, it becomes a story fleeting and intangible joy, soon departed.

I still couldn't like Bridge of Spies more. One of the great man's best films.
