The one I got made a (sneaky imho) reference to the previous wave: "attempts to hack users of our messenger with the connection of third-party devices have become more frequent (...). An investigation (...) revealed that the attacks were carried out by hackers from Iran and post-Soviet countries."

NEW: Hackers are trying to steal Signal users' online backups in a new wave of attacks. The hackers are pretending to be Signal Support and asking targets to share their backup's Recovery Key. This would be the first step in an attack that also requires attackers to take over the victims' accounts.
