I don’t begrudge people like Ben who are not familiar with the material being initially shocked at the snippets Magness posts, precisely because they’re misleading. But coming out of conversations with informed people explaining why Quinn is right and having this sort of reaction is a big problem.
Even if in the end you disagree with Quinn on certain things or perhaps many things, that’s fine. Everyone has points of interpretive disagreement. But thinking they’re full of shit is just not within the realm of reasonable anymore.
My home office walls are lined with bookshelves, mostly economics and history of course. But one of my favorite books in the house is the copy of Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking that my great grandma gave my grandma.
