The lack of self-criticism here is breath-taking. Our senior military have made some catastrophically bad procurement decisions: duff aircraft carriers, bone-shaking armoured personnel carriers. Was this guy one of the decision-makers who made the wrong, costly calls? Reeves is right to be cautious.
