We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier. Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder. thisweekinvideogames.com/feature/conc...
I remember when Yahtzee and I were checking out a now cancelled life-sim game where the PR person was very adamant that we not compare or even mention "The Sims" in our questions, and when I inevitably did because how could you not, the PR person was very upset with me. There's good PR and bad PR.

Placeholder assets that you can't easily spot is a bad way to do things.
Had an idea workshop session last night for Second Wind stuff and came out really excited with what decisions and ideas were made. Time for some pitch emails next week.
That ask from that creator, whoever they are, is just highway robbery. Going from $18K to $5K makes that clear as day. I'm always wary of our sponsorship prices, but hearing that this kinda number isn't out of the ordinary for influencers to ask for is just gross.
More frustrating is that people are taking advantage of studios and developers that might not know better about how realistic the returns on these deals are. Maybe I'm over-generalizing, but the influencer marketplace feels like a bunch of agents just trying to get free money.
Good PR doesn't get in the way and only interjects when a developer asks them to or just helps to make sure they're not accidentally leaking / spoiling things about their projects that aren't revealed yet. Bad PR hovers over interviews to make sure it's all sanitized to their liking.

I'd say 6 showings of the house on first day on the market is a pretty good sign.
New Game Arcadia episode dropping from @thejenna.bsky.social next week and it's the best one yet... lol. Very timely too.
Saw this post on Twitter from @monstertheater.bsky.social this morning about how much a YouTube channel wanted with 60,000 subs to play their game and about fell out of bed. Insane ask. Our highest package is a third of the $18K ask and gets you a full custom ad, multiple placements and a stream.
“The ‘early ideation stages’, when worlds are being fleshed out by writers and artists, are literally crucial to the development of a game’s vision,” said one artist.
