Generally warm/dry through Saturday, but Sunday looks cool and potentially showery/stormy.
Exact impacts will depend on location on a surface low.

We’ll get some of this in Colorado, but the heat will be worse on the West Coast:
A cold front moves through tonight after sunset (likely around 10-11p in Denver), and that'll briefly kick up winds in the 40-50 mph range in town overnight.
Way calmer winds tomorrow, though.

I-70 reopened in both directions early this morning at Glenwood Canyon:
Today's furcast comes from Vega! She's a beautiful 6-year-old spayed Rottweiler with a giant head, an even bigger heart, and so much love still left to give!
If you'd like to adopt Vega and give her the forever home that she deserves, her adoption info is below! ->

🌡️ Hot with high fire danger again: Warm and dry with a high around 90° in Denver, and 30-35 mph gusts will mean elevated fire danger concerns. Wind relaxes tonight.
🌤️ Cooler tomorrow (high near 80°) before we warm right back up for Friday and Saturday.

A Denver Fire employee activated the tornado sirens yesterday after a (false) 911 call of a tornado sighting.
I said it yesterday, but worth repeating: That is completely unacceptable.
Cooler/wetter look to early next week, starting Sunday. TBD a bit on impacts, but Sunday in particular looks showery/stormy.

Today's furcast pet is Hank! He is approximately 2 years old, a male pit mix, and he's dog friendly.
Hank is described as a "snuggle master" and he loves to hike!
If you want to adopt Hank, his adoption info is below!

NEW: Wildfire has closed I-70 in both directions near Glenwood Springs. I-70 is closed between MM 109 and 112 just west of Glenwood because of the Paradise Creek fire, estimated at 15-20 acres.
Unfortunately, this fire has rapid growth potential. Hot and windy there.

As earlier noted, a significant West Coast heatwave will build in the coming days, persisting at least 7-10 days. A strong & at least somewhat persistent ridge will bring war-to-hot conditions West Coast wide. Heat will be most anomalous in PacNW, but will also be present in CA.
