It's the way that Phosphoros embodies his father's more overt anger and temper, and channels it into something more useful, his duties as Azem.
While Hesperos embodies Eos' cold, vindictive wrath. Fully hidden until it turns into something destructive somewhere down the line.
Calling that reincarnation AU "Hemitheos". In it, Hesperos is saved by a timely intervention by Lahabrea, who attempted to pry the vrykolakas from his soul, to varying degrees of success. The concept was far too entwined with his soul to properly be removed
His soul was fractured, but he lived.
Hemitheos has such a fun blend of Hesperos' old, more mild-mannered self and The Vampire™ it scratches my brain
Sometimes I feel I overstate just how awful Hesperos' and Phosphoros' parents were, but then I remember that parents can be absolutely pure evil IRL
